The honeysuckle family, latin: Caprifoliaceae, belongs tot he Dipsacales. Honeysuckle, or woodbine is part of it. The German name for this plant is „goat leave“, and is usually explained by the fact, that this plant climbs like goats. One species is the European Honeysuckle (Lonicera periclymenum); it is a climbing plant and forms lianes, which are more than 20m long. Honeysuckle grows wildly in forests, on hedges and on shrubbery, all over Europe. Its leaves are about 10cm in length, its blossoms shine bright from white to a strong yellow-orange. Honeysuckle fruit are round and deeply red. Honeysuckle blossoms in August.


Honeysuckle spreads a sweet, intense scent, which reminds one of honey and jasmine. In a perfume, honeysuckle adds a pleasant floral side. It matches female fragrances in particular.
